NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Robin Williams has been forced to postpone the remainder of his "Weapons of Self-Destruction" tour due to his health issues. The The 80-city tour for Williams one-manshow had been sold-out since he started the run in September of 2008.
Williams initially canned 4 dates after consulting with his doctors about shortness of breath. Said doctors subsequently determined that the comedian needed aortic valve replacement, a procedure described as "routine."
Tickets for the cancelled dates will be honored when new dates for the tour are scheduled, likely in the fall of '09. As of yet, no firm details on rescheduling have been announced.
"I'm so touched by everyone’s support and well wishes," Williams said in a statement. "This tour has been amazing fun and I can’t wait to get back out on the road after a little tune-up." – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
