Rolling Stones Reveal Opening Acts For Its Onstage Tour

When The Rolling Stones rolled out their tour plans at the Julliard Music School in New York on May 11, they were not ready to reveal their opening acts. Mick Jagger told the assembled press and fans that the Stones always had great openers and this tour would be no different. The first batch of openers have been named.


Some of the opening acts for the
"Rolling Stones: Onstage" World Tour include the Black Eyed Peas, Maroon 5, Pearl Jam, John Mayer Trio, The Tragically Hip, and Les Trois Accords with more to follow. The Black Eyed Peas will warm up for the Stones at Fenway Park in Boston, August 21-23. Maroon 5 will open shows at Rentschler Stadium/Hartford, CT on August 26 and Comerica Park/Detroit on August 31. Les Trois Accords will play at the Frank Clair Stadium/Ottawa, ONT on August 28. The Tragically Hip, Maroon 5 and Les Trois Accords will perform at Magnetic Hill/Moncton, Canada on September 3. Pearl Jam will appear at PNC Park/Pittsburgh on September 28 and the John Mayer Trio will open at the MCI Center/Washington, DC on October 3 and at the Wachovia Center/Philadelphia on October 10.

Pearl Jam is the only aforementioned act to have opened for The Rolling Stones before–on the 1997 Bridges to Babylon tour. –Bob Grossweiner and Jane Cohen
