Seahawks Renew Naming Rights Deal With CenturyLink

RENTON, Wash. (CelebrityAccess) — CenturyLink, Inc., the Seattle Seahawks and First & Goal Inc. have reached an agreement to extend the stadium's current naming rights deal through beginning 2019 through the 2033 NFL season.

This stadium naming rights extension is pending approval by the Washington State Public Stadium Authority, the Washington State public corporation owner of the stadium and event center.

CenturyLink Field and CenturyLink Field Event Center, which hosts more than 185 events per year and attracts more than 2.4 million attendees annually, is the home of the Seahawks, Sounders FC, stadium concerts, Seattle Auto Show, Seattle Boat Show, Seattle Home Show, Seattle RV Show, and various and sundry community and corporate events.

The current naming rights agreement began in 2004 when the stadium was renamed Qwest Field. CenturyLink acquired the naming rights to the stadium as a part of its its acquisition of Qwest Communications which saw the stadium renamed as CenturyLink in 2011.

The financial terms of the renewed agreement were not disclosed. Qwest's original 15-year deal was estimated to have set the telecom company back a cool $75 million, according to Bloomberg. – Staff Writers
