Seatwave Partners With U.K.'s Grand Union Mgmt.

LONDON (VIP NEWS) — London-based fan-to-fan ticket exchange Seatwave has partnered with Grand Union Management to become the official concert ticket re-seller for all current and future artists represented by the U.K.-based music management company.

Under the new deal, Seatwave and Grand Union Management (the Enemy, Seasick Steve, Reverent and the Makers, Mongrel and Boy Kill Boy) are guaranteeing that concertgoers who bought tickets from other fans via seatwave.com will have the tickets waiting for them at the venue's box office on the night of the show.

"The secondary ticketing market is as old as the ticket market itself and up until now has had no accountability," Grand Union Management's David Bianchi said in a statement. "The ability for our clients to earn fairly from the secondary market represents not only another income stream, but hopefully the beginning of the end of our artists' fans being ripped off outside shows."

Seatwave attempts to protect online customers through such programs as TicketIntegrity and TicketCover. TicketIntegrity assures that secondary tickets are coming from legitimate sources, while TicketCover offers full refunds for canceled events.

"This partnership marks the first step in our approach to helping to resolve the challenges that face our industry," Seatwave CEO Joe Cohen said in a statement, according to Billboard
