PORT CHESTER, NY (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Promoter Peter Shapiro has purchased the Capital Theatre for $11.5 million.
Shapiro signed a 10-year lease deal for the venue in 2011, invested $2 million in a refurb of the venue and has been working with Bowery Presents to book shows there since.
Shaprio also owns the Brooklyn Bowl in Williamsburg, which combined bowling with live music and he also published Relix music magazine.
Upcoming shows at the Capital include Little Feat/Leon Russell, Guster, Morrissey, Dwight Yoakam and the Trey Anastasio Band. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
