Sir Paul Plans Retirement Tour

LONDON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Sir Paul McCartney is planning a retirement tour for 2010 with a number of unusual places for gigs reportedly included in the itinerary.

According to the UK newspaper, The Sun, Sir Paul is looking at putting a tour together that has been characterized as "massive" with stops at China's Tiananmen Square and a date near Berlin's Checkpoint Charlie.

"Paul wants to go out with a bang," an unnamed source close to the planning told The Sun, and "He's played countless stadiums over his 50-year career and is on the hunt for the most unusual locations he can find."

Some deals for shows on the tour have already been booked, including a gig in Brazil, slated for April 2010.

"He realises that the older he gets, the less his body will be able to cope with the demands of extended periods on the road," the source told The Sun. "He might play the odd benefit gig if the likes of President Obama gives him a bell – but other than that he'll be putting his feet up and enjoying retirement." – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
