Southwest Florida Performing Arts Center Ready For Debut

BONITA SPRINGS, FL (CelebrityAccess) — Workers are busy putting the final touches on a new $7 million concert hall which is slated to open its doors in just a couple of days.

The Southwest Florida Performing Arts Center in Bonita Springs on Florida's Gulf Coast is slated for a soft opening on Saturday, hosting an open house with six acts, including a Las Vegas-based Michael Jackson tribute artist, but will officially open on Sunday, the News-Press reported.

The 27,000-square-foot venue includes a 400-capacity auditorium as well as Teatro, a 180-seat, Mediterranean themed restaurant, though venue owner Brien Spina says the venue's focus will be on comedy acts and concerts as opposed to food and he told the News-Press that he hopes to keep a steady stream of acts, concerts, plays and more booked year-round.

Spina also operates the nearby Off The Hook Comedy Club on Marco Island, which he opened more than a decade ago and hopes that the new PAC will provide a space for some of the comedians who have outgrown Off the Hook a space to perform. – Staff Writers
