LONDON (Hypebot) – Spotify, which has been more of a functional music service than an elegant one, has unveiled a major redesign across aimed at changing that. The new look is sleeker, darker and arrives alongside significant improvements to Spotify's save, organize and browse features.
Major changes include:
A new dark theme and interface that lets the content "pop" forward, "like in a cinema when you dim the lights."
Your Music collection – Users can now save albums and songs and browse cover art, gather favorite artists and create playlists.
Spotify's says that many of today's changes including the darker interface were driven by user feedback. “We want to make sure Spotify users enjoy the best-looking experience of any music service – one that’s easy to use and consistent across all devices,” says Michelle Kadir, Director of Product at Spotify.
The new design, Your Music and the updated browse features will roll out gradually to Spotify's iPhone, desktop and web users from today, and be available in the coming weeks across all platforms.
