Spotlight On Bonnaroo's Sonic Stage

MANCHESTER, TN (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Amidst the sets played to giant crowds in dark tents at Bonnaroo, Sonic Stage stands out as the true El Dorado for music fans. Sonic Stage started four years ago as interviews of artists conducted by Sirius Satellite Radio and more recently, XM Radio, but when Annabel Lukins took over booking & management of the stage in 2004, she added performances and it's become the talk of the town.

Located in the Sonic Village in the 'Center Roo', Sonic Stage gives fans an chance to catch intimate, mostly acoustic daytime performances by diverse and accomplished artists, all who work entirely gratis. Previous year's performers have included Bob Weir and Ratdog, North Mississippi Allstars, Burning Spears, moe, and Herbie Hancock.

This year, Annabel took over Emcee duties. Her friendship with many of the artists giving her an easy repartee. This year's highlights included a devastating acoustic set by bluesman Buddy Guy, Rusted Root & Blues Traveler, who both brought in record numbers, and an on-stage interview with Bela Fleck who took questions from the audience and played some banjo tunes before he and the Flecktones did a CD signing for their new release.

Annabel, who transplanted to Boulder, CO three years ago is also the director of marketing and artist relations for Jam Cruise and Langerado Music Festival – two highly successful music festivals. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
