Spotlight On The Gorge

GEORGE, WA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — What could be better than seeing a concert against the breathtaking backdrop of the splendors of the natural world? Seeing a concert against said backdrop with full modern amenities, that's what. The Gorge, long known as a concert hotspot in the Pacific northwest, hopes to continue for it's streak.

Featuring sweeping views of the Columbia River Gorge, The 20,000 seat venue was started as an addition to a Winery (now defunct) and has grown ever since. The first show there was by Jesse Colin Young in 1985 but the venue didn't come into it's own until Bob Dylan played in 1988, an event plagued by security and drinking problems.

The venue continued to expand, providing valuable revenue for the small community of George, Washington, adding capacity and amenities until it was sold to the House of Blues.

The facility hosts some top name touring shows, including the Vans Warped Tour, The Dave Matthews Band, Pearl Jam, Tool and annual Indie rock festival Sasquatch!
