CHICAGO (CelebrityAccess) — React Presents announced that the Spring Awakening Music Festival will return to Chicago for the fourth time, however this year, the festival will be open to fans who are 18 years and older.
Set for June 12-14th, at historic Soldier Field in Chicago with a lineup that has yet-to-be-announced. Originally configured as a concert series in 2008, featuring Benny Benassi, ATB, Above & Beyond, Spring Awakening officially became a music festival in 2012, headlined by Skrillex and Afrojack. Last year, the festival attracted more than 100,000 people over the course of the weekend, with headliners including Pretty Lights, Kaskade, Tiesto, Knife Party, Diplo, Big Gigantic and others.
In a press statement, React Presents said that the decision to make the festival 18+ was prompted by safety concerns. In 2014, the festival launched the Safe & Sound and sound program to address safety and security issues and added the the SAMF Wellness Team, a dedicated group of peers available on site with water, answers to any questions, and a direct line to security. – Staff Writers
