Temple University Renews Global Spectrum Contract

PHILADELPHIA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Temple University has renewed the management contract at the Liacouras Center with Global Spectrum.

"We are extremely impressed with all Global Spectrum has done for the Temple University community and how they continue to successfully operate the Liacouras Center for us," said Temple University Associate Vice President of Business Services Richard Rumer. "Global Spectrum has done a superb job of bringing events to the Liacouras Center, as well as linking the Wachovia Center and Wachovia Spectrum with our facility, which has been a truly rewarding experience for our customers."

In addition to scheduling, booking, marketing and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Liacouras Center, Global Spectrum also brings the resources and synergistic opportunities of parent company Comcast-Spectacor to Temple University to assist in media buying, sponsorship sales, promotional appearances and opportunities, group sales, media production and publicity for events at the Liacouras Center.

Temple University officials selected Global Spectrum to secure events and operate the Liacouras Center in July 2001. After that first year, Global Spectrum significantly increased the number of events while dropping the overall operating deficit of the then, four-year-old Liacouras Center.

"Our on-site team at the Liacouras Center has truly created a wonderful experience for our customers by instituting an amazing customer service program, as well as bringing some new and creative events to the community," said Global Spectrum Chief Operating Officer John Page.

"Global Spectrum and Comcast-Spectacor have an incredible reputation for building successful winning teams both on and off the playing surface," said Temple University Athletic Director Bill Bradshaw. "We are very excited to be a part of the Comcast-Spectacor family." — Bob Grossweiner and Jane Cohen
