The Garden Focuses On Overhauling Luxury

BOSTON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Boston’s TD Banknorth Garden will undergo its largest “premium” seating upgrade since 1995, adding a private club area and a reserved-seating sports bar, as well as several other arena upgrades.

The “Premium SportsDeck,” the new sports bar, will offer a membership to the Garden’s Premium Club, which comes with perks such as access to concert tickets and special trip. The “Boardroom,” a private club area with membership limited to only 75 people, will offter such items as lobster tail and filet mignon, and give members guaranteed tickets to all shows and games, but the freedom to attend only the ones they want. They will also get golfing privileges at two country clubs, according to the Boston Globe.

Delaware North Cos., owner of the Garden, is spending millions to upgrade the building, including installing a high-definition scoreboard, a better audio system, and expanding the local subway stop.

The company is looking to attract three groups often overlooked by arena managers: young professionals, small businesses, and life science and technology companies.

The Boardroom will sell two memberships starting at $15,000, while the Premium SportsDeck packages start at $2,000.

Garden executives call the new areas “lifestyle” choices because they stress flexibility. “It’s saying, ‘Come when you want to come, and be a part of the Premium Club,’” John Wentzell, president of the arena, told the paper. Executives plan to sell naming rights to both new areas. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
