The Great Salt Air To Reopen Sept. 28th

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) – Magna, Utah’s landmark 3,500-capacity venue, The Great Salt Air, will reopen on September 28th with a concert by pop rockers Franz Ferdinand.

The new ownership, Salt Air, LLC, is made up of Salt Lake City promoters The Kollective and Suede, LLC, and Arizona-based Lucky Man Productions, LLC. All three partners will book, promote and manage the facility.

The group anticipates a minimum of 50 events per year at the venue.

The new owners plan to make this “Salt Lake City’s entertainment destination.” Renovations are in the works, including interior and exterior painting, in-house sound and lighting systems, scaling the room in half with an arched walkway and curtain system to accommodate smaller concerts with a 1500-capacity set up, VIP boxes, upgrades to the backstage area, a parking lot and a gift shop.

The new owners also plan on programming a wide range of national touring acts of all genres. All events at the facility will be general admission and all ages. In addition, the owners plan to reach out to local businesses, schools and organizations in an attempt to bring in local events such as dances and athletic competitions. The venue will fill a void in the Salt Lake City market and bridge the gap between existing arenas, theaters and smaller clubs.

The Great Salt Air has already confirmed 6 shows, beginning with the Franz Ferdinand performance on the 28th of September. Following that will be Coheed & Cambria on October 8th, Gang Of Four on October 16th, Mae on October 23rd, Switchfoot on October 24th, and Hawthorne Heights on October 31st. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
