(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) —
The Orchard and The Harry Fox Agency, Inc. (HFA) have entered a licensing arrangement for full, permanent digital downloads. "This licensing arrangement allows us to provide an important service to non-U.S. record labels for the mechanical licensing of U.S. digital music services," said Greg Scholl, chief executive of The Orchard and a managing director of Dimensional Associates.
"We have a responsibility to our labels and also to composers and writers to ensure compliance and payment of publishing royalties. Orchard-distributed labels can now relax and do what they do best—make and market music—knowing that their recordings are properly licensed, and that publishing royalties are accounted for and paid."
"We are very pleased to add The Orchard to our growing list of digital music licensees," said Lauren Apolito, vice president, Business Development, HFA. "Proper licensing ensures that publishers and songwriters receive the recognition and payment they deserve, and we applaud The Orchard for their efforts to streamline this process."
