The Tragically Hip's lead vocalist Gord Downie is embarking on a brief solo tour during late July and early August. The shows, billed as "Gord Downie and The Dinner is Ruined with Julie Doiron," will play four major folk festivals in Canada and five clubs in the Northeast United States. Doiron opens the Philadelphia show while The Cash Brothers open the other American concerts.
The Tragically Hip's manager, Jake Gold of The Management Trust, who also manages Downie, advised CelebrityAccess that the group remains intact and will be recording again soon; this is just a side project.
