BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (CelebrityAccess) — Billboard is reporting that comedian Tig Notaro is launching her own comedy label.
The 45-year-old stand-up performer will lead Bentzen Ball Records, a comedy-focused imprint launched with Bloomington, Ind.-based independent label Secretly Canadian.
"It's named after a guy named Ole Bentzen who apparently died of a heart attack from laughter while watching A Fish Called Wanda," Notaro told Billboard. "It's kind of a good way to go, to laugh at stuff."
Notaro's first signing for the new label is Aparna Nancherla, a comedian who writes for Late Night With Seth Myers. Her album is due in early July, Billboard said. – Staff Writers
