LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Rapper Tyler The Creator has canceled all of his scheduled dates in the UK, including appearances at the Reading and Leeds festivals.
Tyler announced the cancellation in a post on his Twitter account, first noting that the shows were canceled due to 'circumstances.'
He later clarified that the cancellations were sparked by visa trouble, apparently over controversial lyrics from a 2009 song.
"BASED ON LYRICS FROM 2009 I AM NOT ALLOWED IN THE UK FOR 3-5 YEARS ( although i was there 8 weeks ago) THAT IS WHY THE SHOWS WERE CANCELLED," Tyler tweeted in almost all caps.
The UK marks the second international tour in as many weeks that has gone by the boards for Tyler over his lyrics. He recently scrapped a series of Australian dates in the face of vocal protests over his lyrics led by a feminist grouo Collective Shout. None of the dates were rescheduled. – Staff Writers
