U2's 360 Tour One For The Record Books

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — U2's 360 tour wrapped up in Moncton on Saturday night, officially closing the books on what proved to be the most successful tour in history.

Spanning 110 concerts across 5 continents and 26 months, U2 played in front of more than 7.2 million fans, including their first visit to the Balkans since 1997.

According to Billboard, the total gross for the tour was a record-breaker, coming in at $736 million all told. This handily beats the previous record-holder, The Rolling Stones 'A Bigger Bang Tour,' which wrapped up in 2007 with an inflation-adjusted total gross of $591 million.

"This tour was a brilliant success on every level and all involved should be extremely proud. U2 once again have set the standard for achievement – perhaps for all time," said Live Nation's Chairman, Global Music & CEO, Global Touring Arthur Fogel.
