LONDON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — British telecom provider BT has entered into an agreement with Universal Music to provide music videos from Universal artists over its broadband television service Reuters is reporting.
This agreement is the latest in a string of contracts with music, film and television companies to provide content for BT's new service.
Called BT Vision, the service costs anywhere from 56 cents for a music video to about 6 dollars for premium content such as concerts.
"The move is another step for music companies in monetizing their content across a variety of different platforms to offset weakness in physical CD sales, and we see these types of deals as becoming increasingly important for music companies." said Ian Whittaker, a UBS analyst in a research note. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
