House of Blues® Entertainment, Inc. (HOB) has announced the appointment of Diana Martinez to Talent Buyer. Martinez’ responsibilities will focus on programming House of Blues San Diego, scheduled to open in May. She’ll be based in San Diego.
"Having known Diana for the past 20 years, I know her passion for music fits perfectly with House of Blues and our approach to booking clubs," says Kevin Morrow, Senior Vice President of Entertainment. "She has extensive experience working with both developing artists and national artists. That, and her knowledge of all styles of music and the San Diego market make her the perfect choice to book House of Blues San Diego.”
In 1985, the Chicago native began her music industry career working as an intern for Chicago’s American Famous Talent. After interning with agents Ron Kaplan and Gary Buck for two years, she was promoted to an agent position before moving on to California and Falk & Morrow Talent in 1990. Since 1995, Martinez has served as the talent buyer for the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach, California. In addition to maintaining the club's blues and reggae base artists, the industry veteran introduced hip-hop, rock-n-Espanol, salsa and jam bands to that club's lineup.

House of Blues San Diego, due to open in May, is located in historic downtown San Diego on 5th Street. The venue will house a restaurant, bar and state-of-the-art music hall.
