Vans Warped Tour Adds New Attractions

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Coming off its most successful year, the 11th annual Vans Warped Tour 2005 presented by Samsung and Cingular Wireless is set to enter its second decade. Bands confirmed for this year's tour include: Atreyu, Avenged Sevenfold, Dropkick Murphys, Fall Out Boy, Hawthorne Heights, Motion City Soundtrack, MxPx, My Chemical Romance, Senses Fail, Strung Out, The Bled, The Explosion, The Matches, The Offspring, The Starting Line, The Transplants, Thrice, Tsunami Bomb and Underoath. Prominent athletes will also be joining the tour from the action sports world and will be announced soon as well as confirmed tour dates.

In an effort to keep America's longest-running touring festival new and fresh, while continuing to keep ticket prices low by partnering with lifestyle sponsors, fans will enjoy a variety of new attractions on this year's tour. 2005 marks the first Amateur Skate Jam, presented by Vans and Lost Energy Drink. This is a daily contest where pro-skaters will judge 20 local amateur skaters in each market who will compete for various levels of prize money.

Tour-goers will be encouraged to help those less fortunate via Punk Junk, an onsite donation center for local homeless shelters. Items needed for donation will be listed on the Vans Warped Tour website. Each person making a donation will receive a gift from a tour sponsor.

Another addition to the tour is Energizer Keeps The Music Going. At each tour stop, one band will be chosen to play 10 minutes longer that day. The band will be selected in advance through voting held on the tour's website. MySpace.com also joins on as the tour's official online media sponsor.

Returning fan favorite attractions include: Reverse Day Care (air-conditioned area where kids can drop off their parents), Fanzine Region, Locker Box, Monster VIP truck and the Button Booth. In addition to the two main stages (appropriately named the "Teal" Stage and "Brian" Stage after their longtime stage managers) and the second or Hurley Stage, side stages include: the Ernie Ball Stage (now in its ninth year), Take Action Stage and charity/awareness area, Girlz Garage (sponsored by ELLEgirl), Kevin Says Stage (sponsored by Hot Topic), Code Of The Cutz (hip hop tent), Smartpunks Stage, Space Station Stage and Punk Network Stage (just outside the venue).

Fanscape continues to handle grassroots marketing for the tour year-round, proliferating the Warped lifestyle and message to millions of people around the world. Fanscape also syndicates the Warped news, music, artist features and contests to dozens of music, punk rock and lifestyle destinations on the web.
