MINNEAPOLIS, Minn (CelebrityAccess) — The International Association of Venue Managers announced the winners of this year's Venue Excellence Awards, with the Moda Center in Portland taking the top honors for arenas.
The awards, presented this year during IAVM's 91st annual conference and trade show, are intended to recognize venues including stadiums, convention centers, arenas, performing arts centers, academic institutions, and complexes that demonstrate excellence in the following four criteria: service to the community, team building/professional development, safety and security, and operational excellence.
A committee of industry leaders chose the finalists for each venue type, and winners were approved by the IAVM Board of Directors.
The 2016 Venue Excellence Award Winners
Arenas: Moda Center (Portland, Oregon)
Complexes: Fair Park (Dallas, Texas)
Performing Arts Center: Tobin Center for the Performing Arts (San Antonio, Texas)
Stadiums: EverBank Field (Jacksonville, Florida)
Fair Park also received the 2016 Education and Service Award, which recognizes member involvement through community outreach, educational opportunities, mentorships, and internships that demonstrate excellence within the venue management industry as well as giving back to the community.
