Viacom Snags AOL’s Flannigan


NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — AOL’s VP of Programming Erik Flannigan has exited the company to join Viacom, where he will help lead digital endeavors at MTV Networks’ Comedy Central and Spike TV, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Flannigan will report to Doug Herzog, president of Comedy Central, Spike TV and TV Land. He will work to steer digital efforts for MTV’s Entertainment Group as well as for its digital properties AtomFilms.com, Shockwave.com and AddictingClips.com.

During his tenure at AOL, Flannigan was VP of Programming for AOL Music, AOL Radio, Moviefone.com, and AOL Television, spearheading several initiatives at the company including web-based music services.
