Yourope Partners With Green Events Conference

ST. GALLEN, Switzerland (VIP NEWS) — The European Festival Association Yourope is an event partner of the forthcoming Green Events Conference in Bonn which will take place from November 3rd-4th.

The aim of the event is to find sustainable solutions for festivals, venues and concerts to deal with the impact they have on the environment with panels and workshops covering a wide variety of topics including: Sustainability Management, Waste Management and Green Law.

Yourope has promoted Green issues at festivals since 2006, when the association launched environmental guidelines for music festivals with a booklet entitled 'Green'n'Clean'. This has now been supplemented by a new online tool providing festival organizers with customized environmental advice, plus a 'Green'n'Clean Award' for festivals who achieve a defined number of criteria in terms of environmental measures.

The following 27 Yourope members have achieved the necessary standards and have received the 'Green'n'Clean Award':

"The seminars have now become an ideas and information hub for the festival and event industry. By bringing together event organizers and environmental managers from across Europe and further afield current practice can be shared and new ideas and strategies developed." says Teresa Moore Bucks New University.

Yourope was founded in November 1998. The overall aim of the association is to collaborate and share best practice, and to pinpoint areas that would benefit from a joint approach. Yourope is founding partner of the European Talent Exchange Program.
