YouTube Insight Analytics: Who Likes My Video?

SAN BRUNO, CA (Hypebot) – Dominant Video Site Improves Analytics

Whether you spent $100,000 or just $100 on that new video, you want people to like it, But aside from a raw number of plays and comments, how can you tell what people thought of it?

With YouYube's Insight, you find out which state or country views come from, the websites that send the most traffic, or the parts of a video that keep your viewers' attention. A new "Community" tab allows you to see how viewers engage with content over time and depending on their geographic location. You can see total numbers for ratings, comments, and favorites or all of three combined. If a rating is 3/5 stars, but the average Japanese viewer is giving it a 2, while the French give a 5, you now know where the real fans are located.

The quality of data gathering and analysis is improving across music web sites as marketers try to determine where they should put their stretched resources. Some companies like Band Metrics are staking their entire future on improving data capture and analysis.

With Insights, YouTube is trying to provide useful information whether you are an advertiser trying to figure out what users think of a new product or a professor curious whether their Plato lecture is starting conversations among users in Greece.
