CHICAGO (CelebrityAccess) — Austin Jones, a singer and YouTube star with a large teenage fan base, is in federal custody and facing two counts of production of child pornography.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Jones, 24, was arrested after allegedly encouraged fans, some as young as 14, to provide him with inappropriate videos.
A criminal complaint revealed on Tuesday alleged that Jones used his popularity to pressure his young fans to expose themselves, and characterizing the requests as auditions.
In one chat, Jones allegedly instructed a girl via Facebook to record herself dancing for him, instructing her on what to wear for their "audition." The victim allegedly sent Jones 15 videos, including ten in which she exposed herself.
Another 14-year-old victim that Jones allegedly spoke to in August also sent more than 25 videos to Jones, including 8 in which she exposed herself, even after she told him she was just 14.
After his arrest, Jones admitted to requesting and receiving videos from the alleged victims, and he admitted it was for sexual pleasure, the criminal complaint said.
