BOULDER, CO (CelebrityAccess) — Independent concert company Z2 Entertainment and the Colorado Chautauqua Association have announced that Z2 has been named as the exclusive promoter for the Chautauqua Summer Concert Series.
The concert series, which takes place each summer at the 1,326 capacity Chautauqua Auditorium in Boulder, this past year featured performances by Steve Earle & The Dukes, Gordon Lightfoot, Melissa Etheridge, Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra featuring Wynton Marsalis and Robert Cray among others.
“Chautauqua Auditorium is an historic jewel of our community and we’re honored to be working with the CCA,” said Z2 CEO Cheryl Liguori. “This partnership provides a great opportunity to bring more music to Boulder audiences under the Z2 family of venues.”
Z2 Entertainment formed in 2010 when two Boulder venues, the Fox Theatre and Boulder Theater, merged. Z2 Talent Buyer David Weingarden and co-Talent Buyer Chris Peck also handle bookings for the summer concert series at the Mishawaka Amphitheater, a 1,000 capacity venue located outside of Fort Collins, Colorado.
Weingarden successfully booked the Denver Botanic Garden’s summer concert series during his years as Director of Concerts at Swallow Hill Music before joining Z2 in Fall of 2013.
The historic Colorado Chautauqua first held its first season in 1898 and has operated since, remaining one of the few continiously operating Chautauquas in the U.S. The auditorium was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2006. – Staff Writers
