BERLIN (VIP-NEWS) — More than 350,000 guests visited Germany’s Waldbühne Berlin in 2017, which marks a new record for the venue.

The scenic open-air amphitheatre holds up to 22,290 people. It topped Pollstar’s 3Q tickets sales charts in the amphitheatre category, at No. 1 with 352,873 tickets sold.

Event highlights contributing to the ranking included Robbie Williams, Pink and Udo Lindenberg, who each sold out the venue twice.

Walbühne also welcomed Aerosmith, Austrian sensation Andreas Gabalier and Kings of Leon in 2017. The second edition of charity concert “Peace x Peace” raised a total of €413,517 for children in warzones and other areas of conflict.

On the classical front, Ludovico Einaudi played his only open-air concert in 2017 at Waldbühne, and Anna Netrebko and Yusif Eyvazov played their only concert in Germany together.

Since 2009, Waldbühne Berlin has been operated by Eventim.

The company’s executive vice president, Rainer Appel, said: “It’s great how the Waldbuhne Berlin has developed over the past years. By now it is not just the leading European open-air location, but also a front-runner worldwide. Once again, we’d like to thank the artists, promoters and visitors who together with us made 2017 another record year for the Waldbuehne.”
