LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) Wayne Kramer, founding member of Detroit’s famed MC5, is taking his band out on the road for the 50th anniversary of the seminal album Kick Out The Jams, taking members of Soundgarden and Fugazi with him.

MC5 is considered the unsung rock band of the ’60s and early ’70s (the band disbanded in 1972, three years after their debut album). Surviving members formed a version of the MC5 in 2003 with The Dictators’ singer Handsome Dick Manitoba as its vocalist.  The band has been nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002, 2016 and 2018.

The tour announcement actually came in early March but no tour dates were provided. The band’s lineup includes Soundgarden’s Kim Thayil, Fugazi’s Brendan Canty, King’s X’s Doug Pinnick and Zen Guerilla singer Marcus Durant.
