SACRAMENTO (CelebrityAccess) Police are investigating a possible assault by Social Distortion frontman Mike Ness, who is accused of attacking a fan from stage because of a political rant.

Tim Hildebrand, a supporter of President Donald Trump, said he was attacked by Ness at the Ace of Spades in midtown Sacramento July 19.

Ness, 56, apparently made his feelings known about Trump from the stage and they are not what some would expect from a band that was founded in the conservative Orange County. Ness apparently proceeded to badmouth Trump and the current state of America. Hildebrand, a Republican farmer from nearby Galt, did not take kindly to the speech.

“I stood pretty much with my silent protest with my middle finger up for the next two songs,” Hildebrand told the local CBS affiliate.

Ness can be seen in a video calling Hidlebrand, apparently,to the front of the stage, then jumping off of it. Ness allegedly spit in Hildebrand’s face before going into the crowd, according to CBS-13. Hildebrand claims the two were yelling at each other when Ness lunged toward him.

“Takes his guitar off, jumps off the stage and proceeds to punch me multiple times in the head,” he said. “Someone that has the status that he does shouldn’t get away with assaulting someone.”

Hildebrand claims the singer gave him two black eyes, a busted lip, a concussion and nearly knocked out one of his teeth.

“I wasn’t able to defend myself because people in the crowd were holding me back,” he said.

He says he was dragged out of the venue by security and filed a police report with officers outside.

He plans on filing charges and wants Ness to pay for his actions, according to CBS.

“If he wants to have a talk someday, man to man, I would love that but he would have to not be a child about it.”

Sacramento police told the affiliate that the incident is under investigation. The band’s manager said the group had no comment.
