COLUMBIA, S.C. (CelebrityAccess) The University of South Carolina in Columbia has approved $21 million in improvements to its Williams-Brice Stadium.
The renovations will take place around all four sides of the facility, which houses college football’s Gamecocks. Premium seats will be added on the south, east and west sides, with about 9,000 premium seats added, bringing capacity to 80,250. The seats will include loge seating near the field and a ground-level club near where the football team enters the field, according to Pan Stadia.
“This project was not designed to create a tremendous amount of money,” athletics director Ray Tanner said. “Certainly that’s a concern, but our goal is to enhance our fan experience and create opportunities that are trending across college football.
“The additional expenses for this access are going to be very reasonable. We are working through the price points now, but our goal is not to maximize what you could obtain, but provide opportunities to create fan experience that is affordable.”
