GLENDALE, AZ (CelebrityAccess) – Beyonce and JAY-Z surprised Arizona teen, Mikayla Lowry, with a $100,000 college scholarship on Wednesday night (Sept. 19) during their OTR II tour stop in Glendale.
Lowry, a senior at Trevor Browne High School, was one of 19 members of the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Phoenix who attended the show for free. She will now become the first member of her family to attend college.
Since the beginning of their OTR II Tour earlier this year, Beyonce and JAY-Z have awarded more than $1 million in scholarships to high-achieving high school students with financial needs from 11 different cities through The Shawn Carter Foundation and the BeyGOOD Initiative.
