UNCASVILLE, CT (CelebrityAccess) – Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment announced it has signed a multi-year partnership with Live Nation Entertainment to acquire talent for their in-development entertainment resort in South Korea.
The resort, named Project Inspire, is currently under construction at Incheon Airport, near Seoul and is expected to be completed in 2021.
The $5 billion dollar project is on track to become a first-of-its-kind integrated entertainment resort destination that includes a three-tower luxury hotel, shopping, and gaming entertainment, as well as a 15,000-seat indoor arena and outdoor performance space.
“This is an exciting time for our industry in Northern Asia; our exclusive partnership with Live Nation Asia will further expand Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment into the global entertainment market. In partnership with Live Nation, our Inspire property is guaranteed to be the number one destination for guests and fans to embrace our incredible shows and must-see concerts,” said Tom Cantone, Senior Vice President, Sports and Entertainment for Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment.
The partnership between Live Nation and MGE first started in 2001, when Mohegan Sun partnered with the promoter to secure talent for the 10,000-seat Mohegan Sun Arena. Since then, Live Nation has delivered over 1,100 performances contributing to Mohegan Sun Arena’s consistent ranking as one of the top venues in the world for its size.
“Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment and Live Nation have been long-time partners in creating one of the most successful arena venues in the world for its size, the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut,” said Mario Kontomerkos, Chief Executive Officer, Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment. “Now, we are partnering again to do the same, only this time it will be at the Inspire Super Arena at the Incheon International Airport, right in the heart of the burgeoning Northern Asia entertainment market. The move further solidifies MGE’s position as the premier global gaming and entertainment resort developer and operator.”
