LEEDS (CelebrityAccess) – Yorkshire’s first all-female music festival, HERFEST, is set to launch this weekend in Leeds.
After a 2017 study revealed that only 14 percent of acts performing at UK festivals were female, HERFEST, which is funded by PRS Foundation and Brighter Sound, was created ‘to celebrate the amazing women making music today and to help redress the gender imbalance seen at mainstream music festivals all over the world.’
The inaugural lineup includes: Stealing Sheep, The Tuts, Dead Naked Hippies, No Fixed Identity, Park Fires, 50FT Queenie, Venus and more.
HERFEST is scheduled to kickoff October 20 at the Brudenell Social Club in Leeds, before continuing on 3 November at the Picture House Social.
