MUNICH, Germany (CelebrityAccess) — German entertainment company Deutsche Entertainment AG (DEAG) announced that its Rockavaria Festival will be on hiatus in 2019.
According to a statement released by DEAG, the festival was canceled due to ongoing construction work at the Glyptothek museum, which is located near the festival site in Königsplatz Plaza.
The festival debuted in 2015, first taking place at Olympiapark, before moving to its current home in Königsplatz for 2018.
This year, the festival took place on June 9 & 10 with headliners Limp Bizket and Iron Maiden, Arch Enemy and Killswitch Engage among others. German punk band Die Toten Hosen were forced to pull out of the event.
The festival took a hiatus in 2017 as well, with organizers citing a lack of available touring talent to make the lineup work as a cause.
