(CelebrityAccess) – Americana and country singer-songwriter and activist Rosanne Cash will be honored by the New Haven International Festival of Arts & Ideas, reports The Associated Press.
Cash is being awarded the festival’s Visionary Leadership Award for her “trailblazing work” in music. The Visionary Leadership Award was established in 2010 in honor of Jean Handley, one of the festival’s three female co-founders.
Previous honorees include journalist Sheryl WuDunn, poet Claudia Rankine, singer and Goodwill Ambassador Angélique Kidjo and Women for Women International founder Zainab Salbi.
The 2019 edition of the New Haven International Festival of Arts & Ideas is scheduled to take place June 9-22.
