SAVANNAH, Ga. (CelebrityAccess) A new entertainment complex is under way in Savannah, Ga.,, which means the city is looking for sponsorships and naming rights, according to the Savannah Now.

There is a proposed ordinance going before the Savannah City Council on Thursday that will establish consistent standards and guidelines to improve the naming rights and sponsorship opportunities, assistant to the city manager Bret Bell told the paper. It requires all funds generated through the sponsorship or naming rights to be allocated to the service, facility, property, or program it is associated with, the paper said.

The sponsorships cannot be political and the city has a right to detract proposals that may detract from the character of the city, Bell said.

“That gives us a lot of discretion,” he said. “The city government is family friendly.”

The $160 million arena could be the most lucrative sponsorship opportunity of any building in the city so far, according to the Savannah Now.
