LOS ANGLES (CelebrityAccess) — Echo In The Canyon, a new documentary film that explores the origins of the music scene around LA’s Laurel Canyon in the mid-60s, will hit theaters in a limited release, starting on May 24th.

The film, which was Directed by former music journalist, record producer and label executive Andrew Slater, features Wallflowers frontman Jakob Dylan while he uncovers never-before-heard personal details about songs and artists that emerged from the musical moment in time.

Echo in the Canyon includes interviews with and performances by a range of artists such as Brian Wilson, Ringo Starr, Michelle Phillips, Eric Clapton, Stephen Stills, David Crosby, Graham Nash, Roger McGuinn and Jackson Browne as well as contemporary musicians they influenced such as Tom Petty (in his last film interview), Beck, Fiona Apple, Cat Power, Regina Spektor, and Norah Jones.

Echo has already picked up some critical notice after it debuted as the Opening Night film at the LA Film Festival and DOC NYC, with Deadline calling the film “sensational” and The Hollywood Reporting noting that it was “rich with revealing.”

Both openings will feature performances by musicians from the film all weekend with a national rollout and a soundtrack on BMG Music following in June.
