A lawyer who represented rapper A$AP Rocky during his trial in Sweden was reportedly shot in an ambush on Friday morning.
According to Sweden’s Expressen newspaper, a gunman opened fire on Henrik Olsson Lilja outside of his home early Friday morning, hitting him in the head and chest.
The gunman then jumped into a waiting SUV and fled the scene.
Stockholm police declined to identify the victim, but according to CBS News, Mia Edwall Insulander, the secretary-general of the Swedish Bar Association, confirmed that the victim was Lilja.
Insulander told CBS that Lilja was alive and hospitalized but did not provide further information on his condition.
Lilja was the first lawyer to represent Rocky after his arrest following a street brawl on June 30th but was later replaced by another legal team before the case went to trial.
The ambush comes just two days after Rocky announced he would not seek to appeal his conviction.
According to CBS, Swedish police said that several individuals have been questioned in connection with the shooting and one person has been arrested, but police did not provide additional details.
