STOCKHOLM, Sweden (CelebrityAccess) — Space, a Swedish gaming and media company led by Gustav Käll, head of esports for Universal Music Group, announced plans to build a new dedicated esports arena in Stockholm.

The 7,500 sq. m (80,729. sq. ft.), venue will occupy seven floors in Stockholm’s Sergels Torg, a public square in the city’s center with a target opening date of early 2021.

The facility will include 500 “gaming stations” each fitted with high-end PCs, as well as video game consoles, and virtual reality equipment. The facility will also include music, video and podcast production facilities.

When it opens, Space says it will be the largest dedicated esports venue in Europe.

“In online culture, people are interested in gaming, music, and content creation,” explained Gustav Käll, Space founder and head of esports for Universal Music Group. “They are the three biggest pillars in terms of what the youth enjoy. We want to bring that under one roof.”
