LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Primary Wave Music Publishing announced the addition of recording industry veteran David Weitzman to its team.
Weitzman, who will focus on the acquisition of notable songwriters for Primary Wave Music’s IP Fund 2, will be based out of the company’s Los Angeles office where he will work with Founder & CEO, Lawrence Mestel, as well as President of PWMP, Justin Shukat.

Weitzman joins Primary Wave from Anthem Entertainment Group but he began his career back in the 1990s with labels such as Rick Rubin’s American Recordings, punk label Epitaph Records and Red Ant Records.
He’s also done stints in A & R & radio promotion, working with artists such as Sublime, Rancid, the Black Crowes and Love & Rockets among others.
More recently, he held a senior role at indie music publisher ole, where he signed producer Timbaland, led the acquisition of Sony Pictures music publishing assets and the production music library, Jingle Punk among other feats.
