NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) – Now that fans have reviewed their year in streaming music with Spotify’s Wrapped, Apple Music’s Replay, YouTube Music’s Recap, and Amazon Music’s Delivered, Bandsintown, the world’s largest live music discovery platform,  shares something completely unique: 2024 High Notes, a personalized recap of every Fan and Artist’s year in live music.

Starting today, fans will receive a summary of the shows and venues they went to, new artists they followed, genres they favored, and more. They’ll also be able to compare their preferences to others in Bandsintown’s rapidly growing community of 93 million registered live music fans. Meanwhile, 640,000 registered artists will get access to a personalized dashboard that recaps their follower growth, the number of shows they played, and a breakdown of the venues, cities, and countries that hosted them. Artists can also customize and download High Notes 2024 graphics to share on social media.

“With 1.5 million events published by artists on our platform, live music played an increasingly pivotal role in shaping culture this year—bringing more variety, promoting diversity, and creating deeper, more genuine connections between artists and fans,” says Bandsintown co-founder and managing partner, Fabrice Sergent. “High Notes is our way of spotlighting these trends and celebrating the performers, places and people who keep local live music scenes alive and thriving.”

THE YEAR IN LIVE MUSIC

Leveraging insights from the 93 million users, 640,000 artists and 7,000 venues registered on the Bandsintown platform, 2024 High Notes paints a powerful picture that confirms that the live music ecosystem is thriving, driven by a mix of enduring legends, rising stars, and cultural shifts.

The numbers tell a dynamic story. Bandsintown shared 7.5 billion event recommendations, doubling the number of recommendations shared in 2023. This generated over 230 million clicks for tickets and more than 15 million concert reminders set by fans—testaments to a year in which fans ignited their love for live music like never before.

This year was also a tipping point for artist-fan engagement, with 275 million new artist followers and over 9.5 million new users organically joining the Bandsintown platform. Behind the scenes, more than 41,000 new artists took control of their online presence, joining a rapidly growing community of artists who connect directly with their fans on Bandsintown.

ARTISTS IN THE SPOTLIGHT

The fastest-growing artists of the year reflect the evolving musical landscape. From Chappell Roan’s meteoric rise to boygenius redefining the indie genre and Noah Kahan’s folk anthems captivating millions, 2024 showcased diversity and storytelling.

In parallel, Rauw Alejandro’s remarkable follower growth showcases the rising global influence of Latin music, a surge in fan engagement for the likes of Childish Gambino highlights the power of deeply creative live experiences, and SZA’s explosive increase in followers underscores the cultural resonance of raw storytelling among audiences.

Meanwhile, global superstars like Taylor Swift and Eminem dominated in gaining followers, cementing their status as icons in an ever-changing industry.

FAN FAVORITES AND LEGENDARY SHOWS

The concerts that stirred the most excitement were as varied as the artists themselves. Legacy acts like Chris Brown generated incredible interest for shows in Brazil and South Africa, with each show having 284,000 and 204,000 reminders set, respectively. Meanwhile, several of Chappell Roan’s tour dates garnered noteworthy attention, with her highest-performing shows in the United States averaging north of 164,000 reminders set.

The one appearance that generated the most interest among Bandsintown’s users? Tyler, The Creator’s set at Camp Flog Gnaw with more than 285,000 reminders set for his performance.

THE HEARTBEAT OF LIVE MUSIC: VENUES & FESTIVALS

New York City emerged as the epicenter of fan engagement, venues like Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre earned its title as the year’s most sought-after venue for the most reminders set for its concerts, and Atlanta’s State Farm Arena captured fans with record-breaking ticket clicks.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre made its mark as the venue with the most new followers, while The Anthem in Washington D.C. earned its stripes as the indie venue with the most new followers.

On the festival front, the 2024 Governors Ball emerged as the festival with the most views, supporting audiences’ continued interest in large-scale immersive events that blend top-tier performances with curated cultural and lifestyle experiences.

GENRE ON THE RISE

Latin music continued its ascent as 2024’s fastest-growing genre, solidifying its role as a cultural powerhouse. From urban rhythms to heartfelt ballads, its resonance across global stages brought audiences closer to the spirit of live performance.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR LIVE MUSIC

In 2024, live music wasn’t just a pastime; it was a movement. It continues to thrive as a force of cultural connection, an economic juggernaut, and a creative playground.

As we look to 2025, this resurgence sets a stage not just for the return of music as we know it in a post-pandemic world but for an evolution driven by fan passion and artistic innovation.

Live music isn’t just back. It’s more vibrant, diverse, and essential than ever.
