50 Cent Back In Bankruptcy Court Over Photos

HARTFORD, CT (CelebrityAccess) — Rapper 50 Cent is due in a Connecticut courtroom on Wednesday to explain photos of him surrounded by piles of cash to the judge who presided over his bankruptcy case.

According to the Hartford Courant, Judge Ann Nevins ordered the rapper, whose name is Curtis Jackson III, to appear in court after he posted a series of photos on Instagram that showed him surrounded by what appeared to be stacks of US currency, which in one photo, were arranged to spell the word 'broke.'

Jackson filed for bankruptcy last July, after a series of verdicts in lawsuits against him left him facing millions in legal settlements. The suits included a $17 million verdict against him over headphone products, and $7 million verdict against him in a lawsuit brought against him by a woman who says he published a sex video of her without permission.

According to The Courant, recently filed financial documents show Jackson has nearly $19.9 million in assets including his mansion in Farmington, Connecticut, $10.6 million in bank, brokerage and other financial accounts. The documents also list $36 million in liabilities. – Staff Writers
