785 Records Opens New Studio

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) —
785 Records & Publishing/Denise Rich Songs has opened a new recording studio in its home office on Fifth Avenue in New York. The label’s list of musicians and producers who have worked in its studio over the years include Patti LaBelle, Jessica Simpson, John Legend, The Game, Natalie Cole and Gavin DeGraw and will be home to up-and-coming artists like Tiffany Giardina and Article A. In addition the new studio is also home to the most widely recognized names in studio equipment, including the Eventide H7600 Ultra-Harmonizer.

“We took a look at our existing studio, that was designed back in the mid-90s, and decided that maybe it was time to tear it apart and start new,” said Mark Eichner, president, 785 Records & Publishing/Denise Rich Songs. “We wanted to build the new studio with the best tools available to enable the artists to do whatever they want. So, the entire studio is designed around our new SSL AWS 900 board and incorporates only the best components. When we considered effects processors, we knew that the Eventide H7600 was the best, based on our experience with their previous models.”

The new studio also features an extensive ProTools rig, Universal Audio LA-2A and LA-3A amplifiers, Neve 1073EQs, GPI pre-amps, and API Lunchboxes. While much of the outboard gear is analog, a majority of the processing is done in ProTools.

“Eventide is widely recognized as one of the most powerful, versatile processors available,” said Eichner. “Why wouldn’t you want that? This way we don’t have to waste half a day getting people in the studio familiarized with our gear. People come in, they see the Eventide processor, and they instantly feel comfortable.”

"As a guitar player, I have always found that you could get great performance and a huge range of sounds from Eventide processors," said Mike Beck, creative manager, 785 Records & Publishing/Denise Rich Songs. "The possibilities it offers for vocal processing are amazing, and the modulating reverbs and delays are unbeatable. I'm looking forward to using the new 7600 model on a number of our upcoming projects and I know that its performance will equal if not exceed that of its predecessor."

Launched in December 2005 by Grammy-nominated songwriter and philanthropist Rich and CEO Joe Giardina, 785 Records & Publishing is a New York based independent record label that embraces unique artistry while identifying special talent and understanding the importance of strong repertoire. Denise Rich Songs is an established music publishing company containing the catalog of Denise Rich, and has contributed works to artists such as Patti LaBelle, Celine Dion and Aretha Franklin.
