ARTISTdirect and AT&T Wireless are teaming up for a second time in presenting Incubus on tour. The group kicks off its first headlining tour in two years Sept. 14 at Meadowbrook Amphitheatre in Gilford, N.H., following its sold-out tour of Europe, Australia and New Zealand in August.
As part of the sponsorship, fans will have an opportunity to meet the band in 30 of the tour's 43 cities. Fans can get a "VIP aXess Pack," which consists of two tickets to any of the 30 featured concerts on the tour (travel not included), two VIP passes, and an invitation to the band's "meet and greet" by purchasing a wireless phone and activating on a qualified AT&T Wireless service plan online. The promotion also includes a contest, offering fans the chance to be treated like a real "VIP," including two premiere tickets to the final Incubus show, plane tickets to Los Angeles, hotel accommodations, limo service, and an escorted tour backstage along with a private "meet and greet" with the band.
ARTISTdirect has developed a customized online "micro-site" at http://thehookup.artistdirect.com that features exclusive music content including webcast episodes featuring original programming, updated music news headlines, current music videos, "It Happened This Week," a music history section, downloadable music, shopping and of course, AT&T service options.
"This is our first headline tour in more than two years," said Incubus guitarist Mike Einziger, "and we wanted to do it right. That means delivering a great show for our fans at a reasonable ticket price. That's very important to us, and this association with AT&T Wireless M3 makes it possible." Top ticket price for the tour will be $25.00.
AT&T Wireless and ARTISTdirect have partnered in two previous music-related events, including last fall's "ARTISTdirect.com Ritual Expo presented by AT&T Wireless," a touring event that focused on progressive lifestyles, fashion, technology, art and culture, as well as the "AT&T Wireless Acoustic Series," which featured performances by Incubus along with Foo Fighters and Beck.
