TRENTON NJ (CelebrityAccess) — Comedian Tracy Morgan is working to recover from a severe brain injury the comedian sustained in a catastrophic automobile accident in June, according to his attorney.
The accident, which occurred in June, left one dead and three, including Morgan, injured. Morgan's attorney Benedict Morelli said on Tuesday that Morgan has yet to fully recover and noted that the performer had been due to start filming a new comedy series for FX Network in August, but said the series has been placed on hold.
“He’s fighting to get better, and if there’s a chance for him to be back to the Tracy Morgan he once was, he’s going to try to do that,” Morelli said. “But we just don’t know because of the severity of the injuries that he sustained and the fact that he had such a severe brain injury.”
Morelli was in court as part of a scheduling conference in Morgan’s lawsuit against Wal-Mart. Morgan sued Wal-Mart, the owner of truck that slammed into Morgan's vehicle, seeking compensatory damages. Wal-Mart countered the suit, suggesting that the victim's injuries were due in part to the fact that the occupants were not wearing seat belts. – Staff Writers
