Australian hard-rockers Doomfoxx have been asked by a senior executive at Billboard to perform at an exclusive Billboard industry showcase in New York on July 26 at the Knitting Factory. Currently in Germany on the “Aussie-Invasion” of Europe as special guests of Australian rockers Rose Tattoo, Doomfoxx, whose line-up includes ex-Rose Tattoo guitarist Mick Cocks, are signed to Blast Records in Australia and have just signed a deal with German record label Armageddon Music/Soulfood/SONY.
Billboard Executive Editor Tamara Conniff met with Doomfoxx manager Richard Cartwright of Platinum Entertainment at MIDEM earlier this year and immediately undertook to present and showcase the band in the US.
“I get a lot of stuff across my desk and haven’t heard anything this good in a long time," said Conniff. "I’m going to break this band in America."
Doomfoxx performed a successful UK showcase on July 6 at The Metro in London. After the Billboard showcase, they return to Europe to play Wacken Open Air where they are booked to play four sets across four stages August 4-6. Their single, Piece of Me, has been released to coincide with the European tour with an album to follow later this year. –Bob Gossweiner and Jane Cohen
