Bette Midler Ends Her Las Vegas Run But Cher To Return


LAS VEGAS (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Bette Midler has announced that the final performance of "The Showgirl Must Go On," her two-year Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace will take place on January 31st, 2010.

At the end of the run, Midler will have performed 300 shows (that's 5 a week.) According to Billboard, Midler has moved more than 440,000 tickets in that two-year span with a gross sales figure topping $60 million.

"Bette is one of the most talented, hard working professionals in the business and we would have loved for her to stay longer, said John Meglen, co-CEO and
President of AEG Live/Concerts West. "All of us at AEG Live thank Bette and the entire cast, crew and staff for a great two year run at The Colosseum."

Midler's departure won't leave a hole in Sin City's entertainment offerings however, as Cher is making plans for a Spring 2010 return to the stage at The Colosseum. So far, Cher's set for 35 performances:

March 1, 3, 4, 7, 8, 10, 11, 14, 15, 17, 20, 21
April 25, 26, 28, 29
May 2, 3, 5, 6, 9, 10, 12, 13, 16, 17, 19, 20, 23, 24
