Colorado State Univ. Reviewing Concert Policy Following Noise Complaints

ENGLEWOOD, CO (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Colorado State University is reviewing its concert policy after an outdoor concert drew over 100 noise complaints from neighbors.

An April 16th performance by hip-hop artist Common on the university’s Lory Student Center west lawn reportedly angered local residents for miles.

“I don’t typically receive noise complaints unless they are pretty traumatic,” City Manager Darin Atteberry told the Coloradoan.

The Associated Students of CSU and the director of Student Involvement and Activities sent an apology letter to the city and the mayor. In the letter, they regretted efforts made before the concert regarding stage location selection and a concert curfew that did not succeed in mitigating sound impact on surrounding neighborhoods.

The committees have scheduled a meeting to discuss lessons learned and to come u with procedures to avoid a repeat at future concerts. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
